How to Speak “Special Educationese”: Productive Communication for IEP Team Meetings

Parents and school staff must communicate often and well to effectively plan for students with disabilities.

  • Learn practical skills for participation and agreement in the Individualized Education Program (IEP) and the Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) process. 
  • Solution planning and writing actions plans will be emphasized. 
  • Avoid conflict and disputes through clear communication.

Who should attend: families of children/young adults with disabilities or learning difficulties, professionals, service providers, caregivers, school staff.
