Overview of Discipline for Students with Disabilities: Questions to Ask and When to Ask Them

The workshop highlights areas of collaboration throughout the discipline processes for students with IEPs. Participants will be able to take back to local school/district and begin conversations to implement local change. We’ll also cover:

• Identifying red flags in student referrals.

• What to ask about extra protections for students with disabilities.

• Recent changes in the law requires of school district policy.

• Disproportionality in discipline.

Who should attend: families of children/young adults with disabilities/ learning challenges, school staff.
