Parent and Teacher Choices of Autism Treatments- Research Opportunity

October 16

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every 2 weeks that begins at 12:00am on Monday, repeating until February 28, 2018

Free

This study attempts to determine what types of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) treatments are used by parents and teachers; what factors are related to their treatment
choices (e.g., media, professional recommendations; beliefs; etc.); and what factors are related to continued treatment use. The parental portion of this study is a replication and expansion of a study published in 2011 (Miller et al).

Parents and teachers will be asked to complete online questionnaires related to what treatments for autism they have used and why they chose them. The time it takes to complete this survey will depend upon your experiences with Autism treatments. The average time to complete the survey should be 20-30 minutes. The number of questions asked on the survey depends upon their experience with different Autism treatments.

There are no risks in participating in this research beyond those experienced in everyday life.

The results of this treatment will help us to understand what treatments are commonly used for children with Autism and to assist with disseminating treatment choices.

Participation in this research is confidential. The survey does not ask for any information that would identify who responded.
