These classes are from 9:30 AM-11:00 on Saturday, July 13, 20, 27, and August 3rd.

In these classes we are focusing on small talk and social practice for young adults (18+) with high functioning autism or “Asperger’s”.  In a social setting with games and other motivators we have fun while we will give direct instruction and practice for “small talk”–how to do it, what is the appropriate time/place/person; talking too much; “preferred” topics issues; invading space of others; topics that we can/can’t talk about at work; understanding “small talk” vs. “deep talk”; what is the purpose of small talk;  “turn taking”; “acknowledging” and greeting others and transition to topics; appropriate and positive body language for social interactions; positive word choices; email/texting/social media issues; use of cell phone at work issues.
