An event every week that begins at 12:00am on Monday, repeating until September 30, 2017
Michigan State University Community Music School-Detroit is currently recruiting children ages 3-5 with ASD to take part in a 30 week music therapy program called Songs for Skills. The purpose of the music therapy intervention is to assist the recently diagnosed child with ASD, as well as the family and team, to build developmental skill, reach education milestones, and empower the child by maximizing function and coping skills.
Participants will meet twice a week with a certified Music Therapist in a 1-hour group session (with parent/caregiver) and a half-hour individual session. The total cost for the program is $300 and financial aid is available for families to apply for.
We are currently recruiting for individuals as well as groups. If you have five or more interested participants we can offer to host the sessions at your location. All other sessions will take place at the school located in the MSU Detroit Center (3408 Woodward Avenue, Detroit, MI 48201).
