The Arc of Northwest Wayne County was organized by parents who wanted services for their sons and daughters with developmental disabilities. Incorporated in 1961 as a charitable, non-profit organization, The Arc of Northwest Wayne County (The Arc NW) is affiliated with The Arc Michigan and The Arc of the United States forming the largest grassroots volunteer advocacy organization in the state and country. The Arc NW provides information and assistance to empower individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. Working to ensure that individuals with developmental disabilities are valued and that they and their families can participate fully in and contribute to the life of their community.
