MSU Parent Support Group
October 3 @ 5:30 pm - November 21 @ 7:00 pm
MSU Department of Psychiatry is very pleased to offer a free parent group to address and modify problem behaviors in children. Join our group facilitated by child and adolescent psychiatry fellows and meet with other parents to share ideas. Our group focuses on learning parenting tips and strategies to support your child’s behavior at home and at school. We will be using the Incredible Years Parent Training Program, a research-based program developed by Carolyn Webster-Stratton that is proven to be effective in reducing children’s aggression and behavior problems and increasing social competence at home and school. This series focuses on the importance of promoting positive behaviors, building social skills and using effective praise. We will also learn helpful strategies for reducing inappropriate behaviors. This group is intended for parents of children ages 5-12.
